    Hi,
I'd like a bit of advice about trading in cars. I'm looking to get a new/or maybe 09/08 car and want to trade in a 03 peugeot 206 with it. Would the dealer give me the same value on my car if i went for the 09/08 car as I would if I were going for the new one? In other words do they give me more for my car when buying a new one from them.

What you got to focus on is the COST TO CHANGE.

Focus on a particular type Brand, model and Spec of car and take your trade in to a few dealers of this brand.

Then you'll see the difference in the deals offered.

What new car have you in mind?

I'd say you will easily pick up a 09 diesel supermini on your budget, you may even stretch to a brand new one too. With new car sales very low you might actually find that the cost to change might work out better against a brand new car. But as already mentioned focus on the the cost to change price rather than the trade-in price.

May I also add that you put the new Ford Fiesta TDCi on your shopping list also.

    +1 on the Fiesta.
Also have a look @ the Kia Ceed.
