Slieve na Mon in Tipperary offer distance membership ( over 50 miles away for the club ) for €180. That includes GUI affliation. I remember seeing some offer awhile ago on the back of Dunnes or Tesco receipts. Not sure if it was any cheaper than €180 though.

Ring of Kerry in Kenmare Co.Kerry is only €215 for full membership the only catch is that three people need to sign up together to avail of the offer.

have to say i would nt take a present of ring of kerry. poorly maintained, lots of dreadful temporary greens. place has gone rapidly down hill. fab views when you havent a kerry mist though:D

There are no temp greens atm and I havn't seen one in a long time, yes the place is not maintained to the highest standard but what do you expect for that kind of money.
Basically it is playable and imo it is still better (even with substandard maintenance) than other comparable clubs, and would suit people who are looking for cheap GUI membership.

fair point , value for the money all right , its just when they started out it was held up to be state of the art course and facilites... anytime recently i ve played it , its been empty , lacking in atmosphere, poorly maintained, and generally just not great. we tend to kenmare g.c now instead if we re visiting the area.
digressing from the subject a bit
but yes ... good enough value i suppose.
