Hey Laney I think they are could be quite expensive as I emailed Pitmans about the cost of doing say a the Secetarial Diploma course and they it could cost between 500 and 3000 euros i think it would depend on the modules you would be doing. Id say go into to them for a chat and then I guess you have a better idea of the cost it depends on what you want to do.

what I was wondering has anyone done one of these pitmans diplomas and have they helped them find a jo?

    Hiya!
I have done 11 out of 13 of my exams in a Legal Secretarial Diploma Course with Pitman Training in Galway. Its a BRILLIANT arrangement where I could study whatever evenings I could after work. On the strength of this course I got a job in a Solicitors office in Galway City and was employed there for three years before I returned to education again.
I got 66% of my Pitman fees paid by FAS in Galway so it is definately worth askin in the Cork centre if the same arrangement is available to you guys. This was based on the condition that I got myself a job in an office which was relevant to my studies though.. I paid about €1100 myself I think but again, the girls in Pitman were brilliant. I could pay it as I could afford it, i.e. €200 per month etc. I cannot sing their praises enough and highly reccommend Pitman. You can quote me on that!

I'm there at the moment. Well worth the money. Study at your own pace and the girls there are very helpful. You can even choose your own study times. In fact, if you've enrolled by now, we might have met!!

I started the Office Admin last year. Finished that now except for the Speed Development Typing. Doing that validation test next Tuesday. Starting Manual and Computerised Accounts as soon as the books arrive; hopefully Friday. I'll be in there around three. (Now you know how to avoid me!LOL)

I'm going to the Pitman Training centre in Limerick tomorrow as I am hoping to do the Manual + Computerised Payroll course with them, but reading this thread has me hoping that I will be able to afford it. I'm actually close to completing a FETAC Level 5 Business and Secretarial studies course (2yr), and have all my modules either completed, or almost completed (final exams next month:() BUT I've found myself lagging behind in payroll - it wouldn't be my strongest subject. I'v decided that I'd rather drop payroll at college now, use that time productively to complete my other modules and do the manual + computerised payroll privately.

I'm hoping that going with Pitman will suit me better as I understand that it's an audio course, where I'l be able to work at my own speed with a supervisor on hand if I need them?

Has anyone here done that course and could maybe advise me what it is like, what the fees are, and most importantly if the Pitman qualification will count with my FETAC Level 5 qualification?
