If you're a self employed sub-contractor and work from the RCTDC system are you entitled to claim Mortgage Interest Tax Relief on your main residence or is this only open to PAYE/PRSI employees?

    Thanks for any replies.

Mortgage interest tax relief is granted at source provided the mortgage is for the individual's main residence.

The mortgage holder needs to complete a TRS form from Revenue to claim tax relief on the mortgage interest. Tax relief is granted on the mortgage interest in the year the mortgage is taken out and six subsequent tax years.
