eBay refund issue

    Just looking for some opinions. I bought a pair of trousers and I received them but I had already found some elsewhere. Anyway, emailed the seller to ask for a refund. I know that I had to pay shipping, no problem with that. He replied saying that to note that he would not pay shipping (I knew this) and wanted me to leave positive feedback before I the refund would be processed. He has not left me feedback even though I paid immediately and have already shipped his trousers back. Should I report him?

    I'd wait until you have confirmation that he's received the trousers first though, either by getting him to confirm in an email, or with tracking info (if you have it). He's probably a bit worried that since he can't leave negative feedback for you, that he'd have nothing to hold over your leaving positive feedback for him. It is a worry for a lot of sellers, as it leaves them over a barrel if the buyer decides to be a prick about things.

    I'd be very wary of leaving positive feedback before receiving any refunds though, as the seller could very well ignore you. You'd still be able to start a dispute for the refund, and if you have proof of him receiving the goods, it should go your way.

    Thanks, I have sent them back priority mail with delivery confirmation. I understand where he was coming from but was taken aback when I got the email stating that he wasn't paying for shipping (I knew that) and about the feedback. I know sellers are under pressure these days.
