Is MW2 the most overrated game EVER?

I have all of the COD games and I mean ALL of them.
MW2 has to be the most OVERRATED of the lot!

WAW would still be my no1, more realistic, better guns and maps etc (Talking about Online playing here)

BTW, Mine is Xbox 360 version.

Just thowing my thoughts out there!

I wouldn't say overrated, I wasn't expecting the shooter to end all shooters but it met the hype that it received.

I place far more importance in the single player part of any game. If I can't have fun playing a game when I'm on my own, then that game is worthless to me. I loved the campaign. Would have liked it to have been longer, but I'm not one of these who got really

bitchy about Makarov no longer being a target. My friend played through the game, and said the same thing I've heard on other forums "Why do you stop chasing Makarov?"

And I answered, "He gives you the intelligence on where to find Sheperd, and you use the covering fire between Makarov's men and Sheperds to continue on to get Sheperd."

I don't know how many people actually missed that, but I'm sure my friend wasn't allone in missing that bit of info.

All in all I think MW2 is a great game. A lot of people on these boards give out so much about the game but when you compare it to the other sho1te that is out on the 360 at the moment I think its top class.

I thought the story mode in Call of Duty 4 was far better. Better game and better story. Once I did the snow mobile level in MW2 I thought it was a bit childish. Although the airport level is great:D
I much prefer MW2 online though for some reason. Maybe it's cos I hate snipers and you rarely get them in MW2.
Get rid of the heart beat sensors too.

Pick the perk so you cannot be seen on the heartbeat sensors (cold blooded I think).

mw2 is by far the best game out there the storyline is hard to follow but when you play it twice it makes seance. i absolutely love the online mode if anything the game was underrated cod 4 and waw were also good games and Nazi zombies cannot be beat but i cannot wait for the new maps for mw2

no ninja is the perk ya want i made that mistake and another thing that's great is for every weapon attachment and piece of equipment there is a perk to get around it , genius:o

I've been doing that lately, I despise the heartbeat sensor campers. Means I lose out on the commando perk which is great. Worth it to kill the HBS guys though

akimbos were toned down in the last patch, all shotguns at a close range will give you a one bullet kill

I thought it was grand for about an hour or two till I had it cleared. tis an alright game. wouldnt say over hyped cos it was the fans that hyped it up mostly.

Don't agree. And I haven't used them yet. I went back to using the SPAs last night. I wreaked havoc with it. If you are in any tight area, the shotgun from hip will kill far quicker than you scoping and shooting with your Assault Rifle etc. Calling a shotgun overpowered in this scenario is wrong, as it's exactly what that weapon type is for.

They were a bit overpowered before purely from their accuracy/range point of view, but equally the better players got more out of them similar to any weapon type.

People just need to learn to switch weapons and have a decent close in secondary.

im on about medium range,obviously a shotgun is going to destroy at close range

I dunno chief, MW & MW2 are the only games keeping me in the games world, Ive definitly out grown all other game types, Ill dabble with the sandbox type games GTA/Saints Row etc and FIFA/PGA when friends are over but with nowhere near as much enthusiasm as the COD series.

As a 32 yr old avid gamer since atari 2600 I cannot praise the series, especially the latest incarnation, enough. If they were to keep this format and release new weapons, maps and perks yearly I would gladly live out my gaming days in that world.

That would be interesting, it would probably be the FPS equivalent of World of Warcraft. Take out the prestiging, remove the level cap and people might even pay a monthly fee. It'll happen eventually I suppose as retail keeps on sliding and we move to downloadable games being the norm.

Anyway, back on topic, I've never been a fan of the COD single player so I would think that probably is over-rated. The multiplayer, despite the glitches and the ****ty community, can't be rated high enough. I liked COD4 but was never as obsessed with it.

Add some lifetime stats, have a team constantly releasing new content and I could easily see myself playing for years.

MW1 online > MW2 online and it's not even close. The gameplay has come on leaps and bounds but the maps and matchmaking, two of the biggest factors in it, are insultingly shit.

Most overrated? No, that's a title kept for GTA, but it's definitely overhyped and if nothing else is trying to live off the success of MW1.

I only like Hardcore Team Deathmatch and I get the same 3/4 maps everytime. Sometimes the same map can appear 2 out of 3 times. Maybe I should mix it up but in WAW they gave a good spread no matter what game type you were playing. It gets old playing the same maps all the time

faults; scar h, model 1887 overpowered, snipers shouldnt be allowed to have shotguns as well, heartbeat sensor real annoying, unfair teams most of the time, seen as how theres no juggernaut NEARLY ALL sniper shots should be 1 shot kill apart from if ur opponent usin that death streak painkiller, UMP = 3 shot kill, unlock noob tubes straight away, ppl can just destroy ur air support etc straight away, commando has got to be the most twa t t i s h perk ever, some people persistenly sponge all bullets then turn around n knife you straight away. that is all, thank you.
