    Hello

The company I work for are looking for a QA Engineer. It's an 11 month contract, but I would imagine if you're good you'd be made permanent.

You'll be exposed to a lot of different technologies (in a non-scary way) and in general it's a fairly nice place to work. It's a multinational in CityWest in Dublin south west.

I don't know what the salary is, but they pay pretty well.

    Here's the job spec:

The candidate will be a professional who is committed to QA as a career, and will enjoy the challenge of working in a dynamic and technically challenging environment.

    Essential skills & attributes:
    • Applicants must have good knowledge of formal and informal test techniques, and various systems development methodologies.
    • Good database administration and SQL skills (Oracle, DB/2 and/or MS SQL server)
    • Good practical knowledge of Web applications and technologies (e.g. IIS, Apache, ASP, JSP, HTML, XML, SSL etc)
    • The individual should be empirical and methodical, with effective technical analysis and problem solving skills.
    • The candidate must have demonstrated organizational skills and first rate communications skills.
    • The candidate should have a proven ability to demonstrate their intrinsic motivation by working proactively on their own initiative while at the same time contributing and performing well within a team. The candidate should demonstrate their preparedness to do the work necessary to achieve established deadlines and targets.
    • The candidate must be keen to take on responsibility, and to develop their career to the next level within Sage.
    Desirable skills & attributes:
    • Programming skills, preferably with at least one script language (JavaScript, Java, Perl, etc.)
    • Experience with the use of automated test tools is an advantage.
    • Experience of business applications design and development in Sales Force Automation, ERP, or Contact management environments.
    Experience:
    • At least 3 years working in technical environments with web-based technologies with at least 2 of these working in a structured test environment preferably on enterprise applications (non-localisation).
    Education:
    • A relevant qualification is desirable i.e. BSc, MSc, ISTQB, etc
    ...

If you're interested in applying, contact me by PM. Also, let me know if you have any questions.

    Cheers.

How soon do they need someone to start? I'm due back in Ireland at the end of March.
