OK so I have finally used up the 40 gig. Do not store movies or much music on the thing.

Anyone know of somewhere doing good deals on hard drives, seeing as it is sales time and all?

    Cheers

    http://www.memoryc.ie/products/description/250GB_Samsung_Spinpoint_M7_2_5-Internal_Hard_Drive-5400rpm-8MB_cache_/index.html

I'd personally recommend memoryc.ie. As they are in Ireland their shipping is super fast. I've ordered quite a few items from them and never had any issues.

I bought this one last year.

Don't forget to back up what you have on your HD before replacing.

BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THE SCREWS......Seriously...

When I was replacing mine, I 'screwed' it up. I called Sony and explained what I was trying to do. The guy took my name and address and sent me a replacement cage and screws, no charge.

For all the crap Sony customer services get, they can do some things very well.

Some games save info onto your PS3 it can be worth while going through and deleating game info for games you dont have any more. Some games create files up to 3 or 4 gb's i know the first time i did it i got back about 20 gb's. Might tie you over till the new HD arrives.

Can't go wrong with either Komplett, Elara or MemoryC. All are Irish based and have collection facilities available:

    Komplett - Blanchardstown
    Elara - Park West
    MemoryC - Celbridge
