It's a bit too detective for me, especially with the hat! Could work in a more casual look.

    Very Dick Tracey alright!

I've never been a fan of that style of coat in leather. The material just doesn't suit the style. While Victoria Beckham wears leather very well it just does nothing for her, a more traditional Mac coat would have looked better.

True is not traditional style but i like it

    true without the hat tho!!!

Hat or not I think the whole ensemble looks cat. That coat probably cost a fortune, is being worn by one of the worlds best known clothes horses and it still looks awful! Deffo NOT a look I'd like to see revived!

I've always thought people in leather trenches look upholstered more than anything else, like walking armchairs. VB doesn't look so bad in that link (although a bit armchair-ish) but if you scroll down a bit to see their 'affordable' version- gaah! bad bad bad bad wrong

I happen to think the one below Victoria's is better structred than the one she is wearing.

Agreeing with Twee. she looks very detective - like, and I'm hoping I won't see too many of those coats around the place.

Knowing the 'trend setter' that Posh is though, they will be probably seen everywhere.

Then again, I don't follow trends, so what do I know :o

True i dont do trends either, well i was into my leather coats since 2 years ago so im way ahead!!

I have about 6 different leather jackets, all different styles, and I love each and every one of them :D

I got a new one for christmas with a hood on it, been dying for one for ages! I only got a chance to wear it yesterday though.

I'm not liking that coat Victoria Beckham has on, it's a bit Matrix.

ah its not full length, think its a very powerful look.sexy with a bit of mystery:)

    what you got littleblondehen

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 115 ✭✭Littleblondehen

True, I suppose it's hard to tell looking at a photo, it probably looks better in real life. I think it's the belt that's putting me off.

I've got a short bolero type one, it's criss cross padded (the only way I can think to discribe the padding is like the Chanel padding?)
I've got the one with the hood and a bomber jacket. Another short one.
I've got one that has no collar and is very fitted. and a biker one.

    All black! :)

I got it a couple of years ago in vera moda. They did have short bolero type ones recently, not the padded ones though.

first of all I'm a boi so you might not want to take my advice so its a disclaimer .

For one thing the fedora hat is too big. It's a very nice hat ,BTW.

Also there's no frontal view so you have no idea of the cut of it , at all .Depends on your colouring and your figure too,I personally think she's too pale to carry it off. I'd say, if your blonde you could pull it off very well.

I think leather has really gone out of fashion ,films like the matrix, blade ,batman have really destroyed its appeal.

I still love it ,I have a really expensive jacket and its the biz.

I'm a fan of leather as well but every time i wear one i'm mistaken for a bouncer.
