The problem is I have to draw an image and I can't draw. I would have used CAD but I can't use it as I don't have one.
Even if I get one now it will take me a good while to get it drawn.

What are you trying to draw?

    Hi OP

How does it work with Cad. I use it's sister program, Max and it allows you to use reference images. Does AutoCAD do the same?

Auto cad can do the same if you go to insert, and then click raster image ref
