    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0164052/

I thought this movie was/is underated, i think it's the best Invisible Man movie to date, the effects and CGI (at the time) were the best seen for the requirements nesscary.

I really liked it, but then again, I am a devotee of everything Verhoeven (even showgirls:D) , and I'll watch anything with Kevin Bacon in it.

I know it wasn't exactly critically acclaimed on it's release, but did it actually flop?

Once you've seen Kevin Bacon's cgi penis, theres no going back.

It was alright until being invisible somehow turns him into this invincible superhuman as well, he gets battered, set on fire, dropped down an elevator shaft(i think) and still survives, still though, Elizabeth Shue is lovely

I liked the voyueristic nature of it, his neighbour (Rhona Mitra) looked stunning....and lets be honest, if you were invisible, wouldn't you sneek a peek?

Paulie is a God! Starship Troopers - Genius. RoboCop - Need I say more!
I loved Hollow Man, seeing i young probably helped but I can still watch it now and stay interested,
that bit where he beats the living s**t outta the dog
still gets me. The sequel on the other hand...

The opening shot with the gorilla was creepy as hell seeing it for the first time

    Good, harmless, entertaining fun.

Don't look at the flaws, enjoy the fun, and so on.

    A 6 or 7 out of 10 kinda movie.

havent seen it in years, I remember enjoying it, but one thing that always lingered was Kevin Bacon was only made invisible, when does invisibility cause superhuman powers?
I mean he could get impaled by a crowbar then got a lick of a flamethrower then electrocuted then proceeded to climb up an elevator shaft by the means of a cable to have his final fight with the escapees

Have you seen Memoirs of an Invisible Man? Definitely the best invisible man movie Ive seen. Chevy Chase and Daryl Hannah, directed by John Carpenter.

    Hollow Man was lame IMO.

^ i have seen that movie, it's good...but confused about wether it's a comedy or a straight action movie.
As i said the effects shots in Hollow Man are better, but Memoirs (at the time) set the benchmark for Invisible Man effect shots.

I think I was one of the first ones I rented too. But I also rented the 13th floor the same week :( which might be the reason I dislike Hollow Man, it is far better than the 13th Floor.

yea big Verhoeven fan here as well. It's a decent film. I remember really liking it in the cinema and then liking it less so on repeat viewings but still think it's decent and worth a look. No one does sci fi and gore like Verhoeven. The sooner he gets back to this genre the better.

i thought it was only ok. I would have prefered an open ending

I've seen Hollow Man. Entertaining but not incredible.

Ghost Dad is clearly better. :)
