Anyone ever watch this? What's the world coming to. It's hardly great viewing. Himself sitting there preaching away. Stick to the radio Joe.

What do you think of the show?

Is he trying to persuade us that Sprite tastes the same as 7UP? I hate those people.

I've never even heard of it. What is it about?

He sits there telling the poor people of the country about how to respect god. He tells us of the stories of the poor people back in jesus' time.

If there actually was a tv show that featured Joe Duffy attempting to level small, elusive supernatural beings, it would probably be the best show ever.

You would need to ingest a shedload of spirits to reach a level of satisfaction from Joe's shows.

Oh, I do vaguely remember seeing an ad for that. I must have repressed the memory.

An auld lad at school used to do the same. Had an unfortunate tendency to drop the hand but it was otherwise a pleasant hour. As long as they insist on keeping everybody's hands in vision, can't see the problem.

All the while drawing a €12,000 per week salary for a job that more or less anyone could perform?

The preacher is on again. He seems very blown up. Put on a lot of weight has our Joe.

One of the few people I genuinely would like to punch in the head.

At one point I couldn't care less about him. Then he kept bringing up the topic of Airsoft on his radio show in a very negative light. Show after show he would ask questions again and again that he knew answers to as they had been provided to him by the Irish Airsoft Association. He's a mixture of Jerry Springer, an Irish politician and half the cast from the movie Clueless all rolled into one.

Spiritual advice? From Joe Duffy? Seriously?

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Folks, what you have to realise is that show is aimed at someone other than you. It's a show about spirituality, which fills a certain niche that some people aren't interested in. Why not start a thread on how bad BBC's 'Songs of Praise' is if you're such experts on religious programming.

You know, having been involved on this forum for a while, I can safely say that I've read about 1% decent critique and 99% jump-on-the-bandwagon slagging off of 'you name them' RTE personalities. By all means, offer something decent to the conversation. Saying that Gerry Ryan has his own postcode or Jason Byrne should be dipped in acid just isn't clever, although it might make a good show.

But Christ, if you're gonna slag off anyone, slag off TV3, which just confused my remote control into thinking it was UTV.. cos, well, it was.

Oh, it's not the idea - I'm quiet happy with spiritual programs, but it's one of RTEs most consistant problems: just get one of their high-earner twats to host the problem and not someone who might actually know what they're talking about.

Joe Duffy, to me, is a wind-up merchant, not a spiritual advisor.

Well, I dunno, and maybe he knows more about spiritulaity that I do, but it seems like he does a decent job of it, considering what it is. I mean, let's seperate 'Joe-the Housewives wet dream' from 'Joe-the bible basher'... Also, he deserves a chance at TV by now right, so maybe it's just his route in..
