    Hey guys
i was wondering if anyone could help me diagnose the problem I'm having with my Sony 46 X3500 TV..

about a month ago (been on holiday for 3 weeks of this) a i noticed when i started the TV up from Cold the image was doubled up on the right have side of the screen and it goes to the middle but eventually fades the further left on the screen it is.

the problems eventually sorts it's self out after about 20 - 25 minutes

you can see the problem from the attached images..

the manufacturing date is 02-08 and I've had the set since April 08 at the moment Sony (after a quick call new years eve) are saying that it's out of warranty and nothing they can do...

I of course do not want to let this go at that, as i believe EU law gives all electrical goods a minimum 2 years warranty regardless of what Sony say??

i was wondering if anyone knows if i can go after sony directly for a repair or do i have to go after the retailer??
the reason i as is i bought the TV in Glasgow and i would be much harder for me to go after them than it would Sony Ireland.

i feel Sony's attitute to the whole problems is shocking it was there flag ship TV and it's only 20 months old and it's failing
is there something in the law about "reasonable lifespan" of an item.

if anyone could help me find out what exactly the problem that would be great!!!
