    Hi CheGuedara
Nice looking bike and setup, can I ask how old the bike is exactly and your reasons for selling it? What version of the ultegra groupset is it, 6600 or is it the newer 6700 and is the crainset a standard double or compact? Also was the wheelset the original wheelset that was part of the built or did you upgrade at a later date. What's the overall weight of the bike?
    Thanks

    Hi Dr_Colossus

Bike was bought in Aug 08 IIRC, reason for selling is the bike has seen very little use as I've been using my primary bike, a Campag equipped Giant TCR, for the vast majority of my cycling out of personal preference, so I'm freeing up cash to put towards something I might use more frequently i.e. Campag equipped.

The grouppo is Ultegra SL (6600). The wheels are upgraded from the stock Mavic Aksiums to the Shimano Ultegra wheelset (lighter and faster to spin up) and the stock Ultegra compact chainset was changed for a standard (39.53) FSA Team Carbon unit & BB (stiffer, lighter). Don't have a weight off hand but can get it on the scales in the morning.

Bike is in storage back in Tralee but can be transported to Dublin for viewing for someone who is genuinely interested in seeing with an eye to buying.

Bike weight. I have same frame but with triple ultegra and Fulcrum 5s. It weighs 8.0kg.

Really nice bike that, looks very well. I was seriously considering getting one of those when upgrading so best of luck with the sale! P.S. Just to let you guys know I have that FSA crankset on my TT bike and it is really excellent. A good bike there with nice upgrades to make a good all round spec! ;)

EDIT: I like the flyer idea! Did you make that yourself? Very clever, I presume that is for notice boards etc is it? Fair play to ya, well done.

Thanks for the reply CheGuedara, a couple more questions if you wouldn't mind. What length stem is on the bike and do you know what length the crankset is also. Not really as concerned about the crank length as I don't know if I'd be able for a standard double anyway.

On the market for a bike for the past 6 months or so with the view to doing sportives, distance/speed work and possibly joining a club. Have been trying to get a bike through the CTW scheme but my employer is being very difficult about it and only offering it with the CycleSuperStore who I find ridiculously overpriced and limited in choice. They wouldn't let me avail of the scheme with Planet-X back in late Oct when I pursued their restrictive policy with them for instance.

How much kms in total do you reckon the bike has done, still has original tyres and all? Is the bottle cage pictured included and carbon also? I presume there's space for a second cage also on the large Hercules?

Had another question also but can't remember it now.

    Thanks again

    Hi Dr_Colossus,

Phew, the stem is 110mm C-C, and the cranks are 175mm. I normally ride 172.5mm and FWIW I couldn't notice any major difference between the two. If you're worried about the standard rings, I recall the rear der can take up to 28t .

All in all I figure the bike has probably 450km or so under it but the tyres are new with the wheel upgrade. If you saw them you'd know how little the bike has done - they look new!

The bike will come with the carbon cage but not the pedals and there is a second set of mounting points on the seat tube for another cage/pump if needed. The only other thing I can figure left unanswered is the bar width - it's 42cm C-C.

    Hope this helps.

Forgot to say - just got it up on Lidl's finest electronic scales and they're telling me it's 8.2kgs. Will try to find a more accurate scales to say for sure though

Thanks CheGuedara, bit surprised by the 8.2kg weight given the wheelset and crankset and all. Still I'm not a weight weenie as could afford to loose the 8.2kg from my own body mass as well.
The stem and bar lengths seem perfect really, you're not planning on giving it an airing around Dublin in the next few weeks or anything? Wouldn't mind a viewing but wouldn't want you to bring it up especially in case I don't buy.
What gearing is on the current cassette and how flexible would you be on the asking price?
    Thanks

    Hi Dr_Colossus

Cool to hear you're interested. I'd like to say I can do better on the price but it's really as good as I can do on it unfortunately.

About getting it up to Dublin - I hadn't planned on tripping back to Tralee until the 15th but if you're interested in seeing to buy I could make a trip this wkend to bring the bike up? Outside of that it'd be the fortnight before I'm back in the Kingdom.

Let me know what you think - if you want I could have it here the start of next week and you could have it for the first sportives of the year :) Oh, and the cassette is 12t-25t.

    Hi CheGuerdara
There's no rush at all with the bike, I've been looking at them for 6 months so another few weeks isn't going to make any difference. I don't want you to go to any hassle bringing it up especially just so I can take a look at it.

I may have to push you a bit on the price though to really spark my interest, as quoted below you did get it for a good price of €1,600. Granted that price probably didn't include the Ultegra wheelset upgrade but these are for sale for €389 from WorldWideCycles.com which as a purchase would offer a second set of wheels rather than just the one higher end set. Also the Ultegra 6600 groupset is second generation now also with the new 6700 offering carbon shifters and hidden brake/gear cables. Prices for the 6600 have come down with Mr. Skeff selling his used groupset for €350 for instance.

I'm on side with ROK ON and Quigs here - someones having you on asking that much for that bike. If they haven't made a mistake and quoted you for the Hercules I'd buy elsewhere.

I got my Hercules for e1600 (a price that still might still be found somewhere). If you can find it at that price to spend the difference between that and the quote for the Mythos you could get the bike custom painted by Dolan (e100) and put any aesthetic qualms with the bike to bed and sort yourself out with a decent pump, saddlebag, bottles and cages with the rest.

    Hey Dr_Colossus,

I'm afraid I can't budge on the price - it's a fair price for the bike that's in it though. If you're still interested, and if it hasn't sold in the interim, drop a post or PM in/around the 14th and I'll bring it up with me after I go back to Tralee
