    Hi,
I am buying a new laptop. One thing I am very interested in is if the manufacturers give you the windows OS CD or not.

For example, Dell don't give it to you but have an even better system whereby they put the factory install off your PC on your hard drive that you can recover
    very easily.

So say your PC / laptop is 2 years old and you wish to reinstall windows on a dell you reboot and hold down f11 and ctrl then you can wipe your system and have windows reinstalled.

Does anyone know what way the other manufacturers do it?

    Thanks.

Most manufacturers do it this way. They also give you the option to make a recovery disk.
