Yet another "Whats that bird?" thread

    This little guy has been coming to my feeders on and off for a good few months now and I can't for the life of me figure out what it is.
    Heres a few photos of it:

    I've looked in books and online and the chief suspect is that it's a female linnet. But anyone that could shed some light on it would be much appreciated.
