    Hi everyone,
Just wondering if anyone has any experience of purchasing a wedding dress on line (e.g. through ebay) and what the experience was like.
    Thanks
    Jacquie

If you do order one check up on it earlier and more often than I did. Was supposed to recieve it from a site I'd had recommended here 3 weeks before my wedding. After almost two weeks of trying to find out where it was it transpired it wasn't coming. Give yourself PLENTY of time to get it - dress shopping a week before your wedding is really not fun.

    Thanks,
The wedding's not til Feb 2011 so I've plenty of time :) I'm looking at a few on ebay at the moment which are made in China.

    try weddingdresscity.com and peridress.com perhaps.
they seem to do great dresses but i would advise to google reviews for these sites. $99 seems too good to be true but being this poverty stricken i might just purchase :D

    I know that feeling!
I'm not looking for a traditional wedding dress anyway so hopefully not too much money will have to be forked out. It's my second wedding and we're just having an intimate civil ceremony so would feel all wrong having a big huge "wedding" type dress! I'm trying to find one in a nice purple as that is the scheme we're going for :)

lol its quite time consuming but i found bridesmaids dresses that i love after a bit of a search on peridress.com.
tk maxx from time to time have lovely evening dresses, before i commit to anything online im going to search the high st shops as there seems to be a permanent sale on.

    hope you find 'your' dress

I've a few friends who've ordered online and had no problems, however one girl ordered a dress and when it arrived it looked nothing like the one one the website, it was obviously a really cheap copy and really badly made. She couldn't wear it, and had to go out looking for one a month before her wedding, so it was pretty stressful for her.

My advice would be if you're going to use an online retailer, read their reviews, and also order it far enough in advance that you'll still have plenty of time to get another dress if the worst happens.

Anyone have any experience of ningbomini on Ebay.
The same stuff is being advertised, registered under a few differant sellers, but all their rating are over 90% for each seller. Spotted a dress I love, very cheap. They are custom made in china, but would need some reasurance before I'd order.

Got a dress from Ebay and it was a little big but that can happen from anywhere. Only thing was some of the stitching was a bit loose, it looked pretty much like the picture tho. If you have plenty of time it wouldnt be to big a deal, if you see one you really like and have tried on something similar then i'd go for it.

I ordered a wedding dress from eBay just to see - it was only 80eur so reckoned it was worth the risk. When it arrived the material and support/boning wasnt half as good as the 'real thing' , but I imagine it would very much depend on the dresses. I know someone who ordered bridesmaids dresses and they were perfect.

In the end I tried on dresses in shops here and when I had picked out the one I wanted I ordered on www.jaysbridal.net - they are official suppliers for quite a few designers and my dress which was 1500eur here was only 600inc delivery from there. It was exacly the same as the one I tried in the shop.

I bought one from a bridal wholesaler make was brilliant but even though I paid extra for extra length it was still on the short side. I paid around 500 plus customs and then ended up buying from a bridal shop anyway.

My friend bought from ebay99% review and it was very flimsy. Not worth half the 100 spent. I bought bridesmaids from eBay and the wholesaler as I had changed colour scheme the wholesaler ones didn't match anymore. Both were brill, wholesalers a bit better as they were forever yours but eBay ones were still lovely and good quality.

my sister is getting married in Sept and we are ordering our dresses from www.lightinthebox.com she's also getting hers from there. I was watching the tv3 wedding show the other morning and my sisters dress (well almost the exact same, different shade and no train) was on it for over a grand... hers is costing €160 delivered.

a friend of ours got married last July and ordered their bridesmaids dresses from the site and they were fab. I mean stunning, really well made. The reviews on the site are honest, they leave up the bad ones, not just the good ones and its for each dress individually.

    Worth a look anyways...

I actually ordered my own wedding dress from there, and kinda of a "just in case" before we order my sisters wedding stuff (hers is working out alot more see!) €87 all in, made to measure and delivered to my door is not bad if it all goes horribly wrong! and if it's right then bargain central!! :D

God I hope it doesn't, my dress is so pretty looking in the picture!! and i'd seen that site beforehand but the clothes reviews look ok... electronics and that are crazy bad!! but thanks for posting!

    I bought mine from www.jaysbridal.com

First I went looking for the dress I wanted , found it and tried it on and then went home and bought it on the net. It came well in time for the wedding and with no problems at all.

    Happy Hunting
