France is ideal for family holidays especially campsites. Best are in northern and central areas, ones along the west coast also the sunniest tended IMO to be much poorer.

By far the best I ever enjoyed was in Carnac(sorry but name escapes me but google and you'll find it) in Brittany region. Superb site, great range of facilities and not too expensive. The only problem is that the weather in this area tends to be a bit Irish. But I wouldn't let that put you off.

Tip: book direct with site owners, avoid the middlemen (usually english and irish agents).
