Frozen mats at range

Went to the range today as its been around 3 weeks since i hit a ball and wanted to start the new year with a bit of practice to keep up my improvement plan for the new year. The place was empty and i thought smugly to myself that i was the only commited golfer to practice today. Bought myself 60 balls from the machine and made my way toward the range. My belief in my superiour commitment level was reinforced when i walked to the area to see baskets of balls abandoned along the range and again thought of cold golfers wimping out of hitting the balls.
I then stepped onto the mat and realised it was frozen solid. Tried to hit a couple of balls and ended up slipping when i swung. Every mat in the place was like this and i was fairly . Went looking for someone to complain to but no one was in the office so i left.
I did stop another car on the way in and informed them of the situation. They turned around and followed me out.
I must say that this was very bad form out the range and i wont be calling again. If i thought that this was a once off i might let it slide but it has been freezing solid for a month and you would think they would have the mats in better condition than this if they expect people to pay for the range. Bit of a rant but just a warning to anyone going to the range to check the mats before they part with their cash.
