Buying lube, age restrictions?

    Hi all,
I need to go buy some lubricant but am quite shy about doing it, so was going to do it at the automated checkout in tesco. I was wondering though, if there is an age restriction on these products, i.e. will the machine beep and say "authorisation needed" as that could lead to an embarrassing situation (in my mind at least)...

Sorry if this looks like a troll post but it's not.

There is not an age restriction on buying lubes for sexual purposes.
tbh I would suggest going into a chemist or boots you never go into and buying it there.

Most of the adult items in Tesco are in security boxes so authorisation would be required if the item is boxed. I agree with the above, go to a large boots, it'll be on the shelf so you won't have to ask for it. The staff really don't care, it's the annoying customers that bother them, not people like yourself.

You can buy KY-Jelly (which is safe to use with Condoms as its waterbased) in Tescos at the automated machines as long as it is not tagged or in a box, just buy something else to make it look less inconspicuous. It is close to the condoms in that aisle. Either that or buy it in a big boots and something less suss also, <snip>

No need to be worried, people buy these things all the time, only thing to remember when using KY is that it tends to dry out but a drop of water or saliva reactivates it again.

A lot of the stuff thats security tagged in Tesco can be found without security boxes right behind it which is odd, you could just buy one of those, op if you have a credit card you could use britishcondoms.co.uk which is a great sit for condoms and lube, they send them in plain brown boxes too, not sure if you are fairly young so it may not be an option but its worth looking into, i can understand how its embarassing buying lube, some shop assistants look at you like you're some kind of sexual deviant for buying it instead of its practical purpose

Buy it online, much less embarrassing. I'd be glowing like a beacon if the item didn't scan in tescos + they have most sex products in perspex boxes. Or a chemist is good too because they're used to people going in for even stranger things (creams for rashes & that sort of thing)

tenchi-fan, if you want to joke go to AH. Otherwise please read the part of the PI charter referring to unhelpful posts.

KY Jelly isn't an "adult" item as such, it has other medicinal uses. There wont be any age restriction on it so scan away! If it's boxed in tesco and you're too embarrassed to ask for it, then pop into Boots where it should be on the shelf.

As said, Tesco may have secuirty tagged it. So a staff member will have to check it, it's no big deal.

If this bother you, just buy online. It's probably cheaper and your parcel will come in plain brown packaging.
