    Hi,

Just wondering if anyone could help,
I am able to recieve terrestrial channels through an ntl box in my room, which i assume come through the satelite as I don't think I even have an aerial.
So my question is, is there any freesat boxes that can do the same? With the ntl box I can tune the channels into the telly and it's seperate to the actual digital channels,

    Cheers.

Just the usual Rte etc, the analogue channels seem to be coming through the satelite so I was wondering if I could get them through the satelite with a freesat box.

You mention an 'ntl box' in which case you're getting TV via cable, not a satellite dish. NTL is not a satellite company, they deliver TV by connecting your house into their cable network and you get the signal out of a co-ax cable point on the wall, the cable looks the same as the cable you'd have if you had an aerial.

If you had Sky and a dish you could drop the Sky subscription and use the Sky box as a Freesat receiver but you'd need an aerial to get the Irish channels as they are not carried on Freesat. The Sky service includes the Irish channels but the agreement that Sky has with RTE prevents RTE from giving the signal to any other satellite operator.
