Having crashed and broken my carbon frame some months I gave up on cycling. However I have missed it a lot more than I thought I would. Then I saw a giant tcr advanced bike and I must have one.

My crashed bike is ok apart from the frame which a write off.The giant frame can be bought but I dont know anyone who has one, just wondered whatthis bike is like.

If anyone has one I would like to hear from you.I have seen reviews on the net but not like reading from people who have one.

I know you've read some reviews but it was voted bike of the year by Cycling Plus:

Wobbits who occasionally posts on here had one and liked it alot but it got stolen. So if you buy one lock it up proper, even when its indoors.

Thanks Pete I have than issue of cycling plus.Thats one of the reasons I thought about this bike frame.I have seen the giant in a bike shop, but there was no way they would let me take the bike for a spin.

So I am back to square one maybe some one would let me have a test run there bike?Proberly not is the answer ,so if anyone has one or had one whats it really like.I am thinking about a time speeder frame as well its a toss of a coin between the two.

So if anyone has a tcr advanced or a time speeder like to know your thoughts on them.:D

Why would the shop not let you take it for a spin? Doesn't sound like they want to sell many bikes.

Dont understand it myself blorg, dont want to name the shop.Would not even consider giving me even a short spin on the bike, very disappointing service.

Though the bike itself looked amazing, and I would never think of getting a giant normally.

That is weird. I hope you didn't go in saying you had crashed your old bike, maybe they thought you were some kind of Evel Knievel on a bike.

TCR is a really nice frame and like Pete's link says, that entire panel of judges rode some really fantastic bikes and that one stood out above the rest.

    Did you try cyclesuperstore?

Go to a different shop, WTF is the advantage of buying from your LBS if they won't even give you a test ride. I could understand if it was just the weather we are having at the moment mind, would be reasonable for a shop to want non-icy dry conditions before they would let you out on a bike.

Heck, even offering to put it on a turbo for you to get an idea of fit and feel.

Be sure to pop in and buy a tube for your shiny new TCR which was bought elsewhere.

I have a TCR Advance 1 2009 model in a medium, I love the bike really stiff and responsive when you put the power. I also use a alu. TCR for my winter bike and you really notices the difference between the two frame materials. The compact geometry is different to standard geometry and again suits me better because of my height.
