Any stores open today that have one of these in stock. Nobody seems to be answering their phones in the shops.
I need to get one today.

I'm trying to get one today aswell but I don't think their open today even though they usually are on Saturdays. Might have to wait until normal business hours on Monday which is what I will probably have to do.

o2 in malahide has 16gb iphones on prepay, however they do not except credit cards for iphones because apparently it costs them too much to put it through on the credit card machine. Think this is the reason they are one of the only stores in Ireland to have some in stock.

WTF?! That is one of the most stupid things i've heard in a very long time!

there some amount of truth behind this.

It depends on the vendor of the credit card terminal. Some of them can take a max. of 5%. 5% of 519€ is 26€ and that's a lot of profit taken away from your store especially considering apple get the majority of money from the sale of a pre-pay iPhone. Also throw into the mix some O2 stores are not actually tied to corporate and essentially franchises I can see why they won't take the hit.

Are people really that impatient that they absolutely must buy a luxury item on a credit card? Wait a couple of weeks until pay day and buy then.

Now I am not excusing their behaviour. They knew about this fee before getting the terminal in just people don't realise those terminals aren't free and actually eat into your profits.
