i've lost the wifi on my acer. it's about a year+3months old. the wifi icon has suddenly disappared, and i'm unable to open network conections either.
i googled the problem and it seems that i'm not the only person to have encountered this. can anyone help? i'm not the best with jargon etc. and i'm running linux too so im clueless!

I had this problem before, this worked for me:
    open a command prompt, type
    rm -rf ~/.gconf/system/networking
    [press Enter]
    and reboot

to get a command prompt, look on the File menu on the file/document browser (like Windows Explorer)
