    Hey guys,

Looking for straight answers on this as have conflicting reports/rumours etc.

If you have a learner permit, i.e. not a full licence, it is illegal to drive unaccompanied by a person with a full licence, right?

If stopped by the Gardai on your own, with just a learner permit, you can be fined 1k, is this correct?

    Thanks

You also get penalty points I think, which stay on your record for 3 years.

So you can still be fined etc if the accompanying driver has their licence for say just under 2 years...? Or would they possibly overlook the fact that they had it for less than 2 years?

I think if they've had it for just under 2 yrs you should be ok...I guess it depends on who pulls you over. They're probably concentrating more on catching learners driving alone or without L plates.:)
