alcoholic father refusing to leave, what are our rights?

to cut a loooong story short my father is an alcoholic. he has never physically hurt any of us but he has emotionally and mentally abused us for all our lives. he gets drunk and gets aggressive and calls my mother names etc . I am 23 so I am counted as an adult i know, but i have a younger sister who is under 18. My mother has finally taken a stand and told him he has to leave.
we got him out of the house last weekend and he moved into another house. however, today he has just arrived into our home as if he has every right to be here and is refusing to leave. what can we do?
he is not drunk right now but he has been drinking all week while in the other house. he makes our life hell and my sister is very upset that he is back as she had been so relieved when he left because we finally felt safe and secure and now he just walks back in. it has been a very tough week for everyone and my mother was finally starting to feel a bit better and he has undone everything now. we have called his brothers, her brothers, neighbours etc but because everyone is snowed in at the moment nooone can come but after speaking on the phone to him they all said there is no getting through to him. it is a saturday so we cant even get solicitors involved until monday.

is there anything we can do? I want to call the guards but not if they are going to come out and tell him he can stay as that will only be ammunition to him and he will take that as a sign that he has every right to be here.

im so upset he has been doing this for 30 years and there just seems to be no getting through to him, can anyone advise me on what we should do?

I really hope someone can help me as i am getting very desperate now...

    thanks

I feel terribly sorry for you and your family, but legally I am not sure what you can do. The family home is his home too, and if he is not drinking or being abusive you cannot just evict him, he has rights. Awful situation to be in though.

I completely sympathise with your situation, sincerely - but this kind of advice is not permitted here.

Your situation is serious, please go see a solicitor.
