Generalisations will be fine as it obviously differs within industry.

What is the main difference between the day to day work between industry and practice?

    What is the salary difference?

What is the difference in exam support / leave for study?

What is the difference in responsibility levels for first 3/6/12 months?

What is the difference in career prospects once qualified?

What is the level of knowledge required for business/accountancy degree graduates?

What is the possibility of getting sponsored in an accountancy masters for both industry and practice?

What is the difference in current graduate employment prospects in both?

What are the best recruitment websites for graduates looking to get into industry?

What are the lesser known publications that advertise jobs?

How can recent graduates stand out from the crowd in the application process?

What are the main things recruiters are looking for in both industry and practice?

Which is a more enjoyable and rewarding career path? 17 votes

    I'm 199.

I work in industry and I have never worked in practice and don't know anybody who does. I don't think I could tell you the difference in day to day work or any other differences...

True but maybe you could describe the daily activities in industry and give an idea of what is expected of someone starting to work in industry? Someone else in practice then might be able to do a compare and contrast?

Re Poll - You've hidden the results, so you are the only beneficiary and while you may release it eventually it's not creating any buzz.

You've also most likely killed the thread with too many questions.

It's the same reason authors put chapters into books so as not to deter readers! ;)

In industry you play a part in running a business, you contribute to decisions, look to the future and what you do actually has an impact. You're like a doctor looking after a patient if you will.........

In practice you are analyzing results, looking a year into the past and telling people what they probably already know. More like a mortician examing a bloated, smelly corpse, if you will....

    I love practice!

So many questions asked in one go. It killed me.

Can a Mod reveal the results? I'd be interested to know!

I've done both and prefer industry. Different strokes.
