    Hi,

I just got a new laptop, I was wondering what is the best way to use it, do you charge it up and then use it with no power cord, or do you leave it running from the power cord?

A few websites say different things, can anyone offer advice??

I use my lapdog :D from the mains with no battery in, but if I wanted to use it occasionally using the battery then I would leave the battery in the machine all the time so that it would be fullly charged up when I need it.

Depends on how long you plan to use the laptop for. If you only use it for short periods of time but often throughout the day, best to charge it up completely and use the battery with hibernate. If you have it on all day or use it as a desktop replacement take the battery out and plug it into the mains

dont leave the laptop on charge all the time.
when its full, unplug it and use it until the battery is almost empty.
    then plug it in again.

if your going to use it for a prolonged period of time in the same place, then simply slide the battery out and run the laptop off the plug.
