Do I have to do something to make the O2 dongle automatically connect to the internet (iin the 02 settings menu)?

    Any help would be great
    thanks

What modem are you using with it?

I couldn't get my Sierra wireless Compass 888 to connect even after update the firmware of the router and modem, but my E220 connected perfectly... well almost perfectly but that's another story - point is that the modem connected to the internet.

Limitations of crap upload speeds with the E220 though.

    BTW -

Try seeing if it will connect on 2G as i know the there were network issues with O2 broadband all over the country over the week-end.

you could always try putting in gprs for the username and password too...

You dont need to do anything to your dongle, i bought the 3g edimax 6200. It worked fine for months then without any trouble just stopped. You dont need to change any setting with the router, just plug it into the electric and then put your modem into either usb. enable the wireless device and connect to. You dont need an ip as o2 supply this along with dns server, if your getting problems hold the reset button in on the router for 15-20 seconds . I now have to use ad hoc. you will know if your router is sending a signal when you open connect to a network. I deleted the o2 software from the internal flash memory and opened the port speeds, now i get full house coverage at top speeds:D
