We'll settle the question we've all been wanting the answer to? Who os the worst Irish Female Comedian?

I vote Maeve Higgins. Unfunny woman. Doing a cookery show and trying to be funny with a Cork accent and using "like" far too often to try and get a few laughs

Deirdre O'Kane and Maeve Higgins are who I'd vote for. Deirdre O'Kane gets it because she does ads on the radio and thus is more difficult to avoid.

I don't like Katherine Lynch. Her range seems to consist of mimicking female country stereotypes, while being as vulgar as possible and wearing the most revealing two-sizes-too-small-clothes. Once or twice might be funny, but it's really wearing thin now. She gives me the impression that she's escaped from a loony bin with the goal to make people laugh at any cost.

Maeve Higgins is very sharp, and can be extremely funny. Wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of her though, going by her performance at a gig a few years back!

I think Maeve is sometimes very funny... I should get my coat.

As a general rule, women do not succeed as standup comedians. It's a bad thing, but I think that a male comedian and a female comedian can make the same joke, but it sometimes just won't be as funny when a woman says it.

The token female on The Panel is just taking the piss though. We aren't *that* bad as a gender.

All Deirdre Kane talks about is how men are bastards etc. OK for an odd joke but her comedy act is full of how men have problems. Just wish they knew when to STFU

Maeve Higgins would drive anybody with a sense of humour to insanity. I can understand how people like Katherine Lynch (just about) but Maeve Higgins is the epitimy of a child who was told by her parents that she was funny and should persue a career in comedy.

Maeve Higgins is the unfunniest person I have ever had to watch or hear.

Deirdre O'Kane and Pauline McGlynn have some redeeming features. Namely Paths to freedom and Fr Ted.

Can't comment on Katherine Lynch as I have avoided everything she has done like the plague. Sometimes ya just get a feeling by looking at someone you just ain't gonna like 'em!

Anyway, Katherine Lynch is the worst of that lot. Then O'Kane.
Maeve Higgins can be quite funnny at times, she's a bit hit and miss though.
McLynne's a wonderful comic actress, not sure I'd rate her as a comedian though.

Maeve Higgins definitely, she has absolutely no charisma on stage and is NOT funny. I don't understand how people think she is....

Yea obviously....
I live and work in Dublin inner city. I teach kids from the flats and interact with their pyjama wearing parent (s) on a daily basis. And yes, MANY go on like that and most of them speak like that!

If you insist on saying she's accurate, do you not think some things just aren't worth parodying? It isn't funny when Dublin townies act stupid, and it isn't funny when people copy it for TV.

She is just horrific.

I don't know about their Stand up, but I enjoy watching Maeve Higgins & Katherine Lynches shows on telly. Pauline McLynne is woeful. She is a bit annoying in Father Ted and not much outside of it, much like Ardal O Hanlon.
