Was looking at Mumford and Sons in March tickets e18 or thereabouts..
Of course I was'nt aware of the event and didnt have 3 p.c's simultaneously logging into the ticketmaster at 9 am on the day they went on sale so of course I cant get em...But I see that worldticketshop.com have tickets for e130..
How do these touts(or as they would see it premium ticket procurers or some bollox) get these tickets..needaticket.ie is another crew that does this..I sure it a lucrative enough business and I suspect worldticketshop does'nt compete with the ordinary punter at 9 am on ticket day..anyway just having a rant guess I better get an o2 sim card for priority booking in future..

well an 02 sim will only be of use for gigs in the 02, so it wouldn't have been any good for this gig. Frustrating as it is, just check ticketmaster and tickets.ie regularly, sign up for e-mails alerts and check your fave bands websites often. If you know when tix are going on sale it's usually handy enough to get them.

also +1 on what garthv says, check it out, toutless very useful

Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails had a rant where he accused Ticketmaster of supplying several of these places with tickets in the states but I haven't heard any evidence of it happening here (and I'm not trying to imply it does in anyway by mentioning it).

I obviously haven't used any of these services but I'd be interested in hearing if the tickets that were received were bought with credit cards (and have the same or different names on them each time) or with cash. If they are cash you can bet they were printed out in a Ticketmaster kiosk somewhere by someone working on the inside (not working under instructions from Ticketmaster). There was someone in the Pearl Jam thread who said they even saw this happening for that event.

If its credit cards with different names it could imply an acquisition network that goes online at the same time as everyone else or they may be just buying off other resellers. You'd have to see if the same set of names constantly came up. Could be interesting if so as it would be trivial for Ticketmaster to blacklist them (though trivial to probably have them setup new details with family members etc).

I've said it several times as long as people do not deal with these people then they will disappear and probably rather quickly too. I've noticed not just with this but other (probably more important things) that the current culture doesn't support boycotts too well... however I suspect the current economy might just... especially with ridiculously inflated prices so now is the time that every sale could be making the difference to them. A little bit of sacrifice now could mean the difference in getting tickets for a whole lot more events in the future.

Also you can probably bet on Mumford and Sons playing here at least once more this year if not twice (if you want to count the inevitable Oxegen appearance).
