what would be the distant for shooting fox with that, try to get sumthing to hit the fox at 100yards but not make mince out of a rabbit,:D

Sounds like a .22 Hornet is what you're looking for. Won't blow rabbits to bits with good clean headshots, but will have plenty of thump for foxes as well, above and beyond the rimfire calibres.

Well it's an accurate round and no problem at 100 if you can put it in his ear:D so i guess the rest is up to you ronn:D:D

OTT for rabbits IMHO,you'd probably be shooting more rabbit than fox?in which case i'd be inclined to go smaller cal and work a little more on the fox

I shoot a fair few rabbits with a hornet. The trick is to get them in the head.

    I'd go with kaka suggestion,
.17, and a CZ varmint 16", powerful flat shooting rifle, power on the fox,, and good head shot on the wabbit's,999

if i was looking for a gun for rabbits and foxes the .17 would be my choice had a cz one before and did the job no bother once yal place the bullet well on the fox a head or chest shot all the time

but ideally yad want two rifles a .22 or .17 for the bunnies and a .223 for the foxes wouldnt touch a hornet not that theres anything wrong with them but the .233 out shoots it by far and has cheaper ammo in 20 box rounds for 15 euro in american eagle where as my friend is handing over 45 50 euro for fifty hornet rounds

    +1 for the .223
great for fox and head shots for bunnies !
A huge selection of cheap ammo.

I found running a .17hmr grand for dealing with fox far too expensive for rabbit. expect to pay 17 euro plus for a box of 50. Why not keep the .22 and get a good caller to bring the foxes in to within 50m ?

shop around yal probably get them cheaper

dont think 17 euro is bad how many hours would ya be out shooting bfore ya fire them all yad pay a tenner for an hour and a half in the cinema

shooting the fox at 50m metres isnt really challenging

    .223 all the way!

Or you could consider a 22mag, good out to 100yards and will stop a fox not blow the bunnies to bits and dosn't cost a lot to run.

I used to shoot fox up to 100 yrds with a 22 WMR no problem.(remmy 597)
I then got a second hand ruger hornet and this is deadly. I have just ordered a remington 597 in 22 lr for bunnies and vermin.

Youll pick up a hornet very cheap expect to pay €23 for hornady 35 grn (25 in box) and €38 for remington 40 grn (fifty in box).

I find the hornet is a dinger dont need a moderator, and a box or two of shells does me the year.

hi go for a centerfire .222 .223 .22-250 good for foxes and rabbits but there will not be much left of the rabbit if u want to eat them. keep your .22lr for rabbits and get centerfire for fox
