Anyone else see this today? 1 lane closed for a stretch by the cops. Lots of emergency services zooming along from the west for it. Looked nasty.

Not a good start to the year

There was also an incident on the M6 eastbound east of Kilbeggan with a car gone into the ditch. There was ice in both the driving and overtaking lanes at this point as there was no sunlight hitting the carriageway due to fact that it is in a gulley. I had slowed down as several cars had gone off at this point-I could see the car behind me sliding wildly-very nearly ended up in the concrete barrier.

There were also treacherous conditions west of Maynooth-with quite a bit of snow/frost in the overtaking lane-I skidded in the driving lane travelling at around 60kph. Despite the condition of the overtaking lane and most people staying in the driving lane, 2 cars passed me in the overtaking lane at between 80-100kph.

I was surprised that the M4/M6 was not better treated/cleared-I was on the road at around 12.30 this afternoon.
