    Ok to answer a previous thread about linking 2 PS3s to an Eircom Router to play online.....glad to say that following someone posting a Youtube link from the guy in Carlow......it works.

    However....Is Nat Type: Open really the best setting as I keep getting guys whose connections is not up to hosting and the game waiting as it switches over.
    Happens quiet a few times to be annoying.

    Would the middle Nat type not be the best??

    I had 5 mates over last night all with PS3's and all wireless to the router (Eircom).

    I'm the only one with Open Nat type and it did drop a good few times in lobby etc, but the games were running fine

    you want open.nothing else

    you are open as youve done the "keep it carlow" trick, nat1. your ps3 is directly connected to net, bypassing all firewall rules etc ! this is very good for ps3 gaming
    nat 2 is good if you have the correct fw rules & ports correctly forwarded to ps3, or ps3 in DMZ, this will give open also
    nat 3 you will be on strict, but can be got to moderate with router configuration, not so good, slow to connect, effects voice communications, very hard to accept and join friends for private games

    NAT1/2 open is good !
