You can use any sim in it once you unlock it...you just have to get the network settings for for the gprs connection, I would imagine you would
have no difficulty getting push email...i stand correction though..

    No problem at all.

At the moment I am in France with my legally unlocked iPhone, using it with a vodafone.ie PAYG SIM with data @ 99c a day. I also use that SIM in the MiFi that I have just unlocked and use the wifi on the iPhone for data when I need to put my French SIM in it for calls.. Push email, no problem! Great bargain!

    Hi,

I am a vodafone PAYG user and I am on the free texts to any network tariff, Am i right in saying i just need to purchase the data @99cent per day and then put this sim into a new iphone and I will be up and going?

Have you enough data in the 99 cent option?
    Is the data connection quick?
Are any modifications/ hacks needed to the iphone to go out via the 99 cent option?
Can you roam with the 99 cent option? As I am going to san fran cisco for a week and would like to use it.

push email will work on jailbroken/unlocked iPhones if and only if you have a mail account that supports push email gMail/exchange etc. otherwise it's fetch emails every 15 minutes which is the shortest interval you can choose.

You dont have to purchase the data, they automatically charge you by the kb, up to 99cent at which point they stop charging you up to a limit of 50mb. To get the iphone to work you just need the settings, I can post them here if you like? The speed depends on whether youre in a 3g area or not, not sure about the roaming but I dont think the 99cent deal stands then.
