+1. Christmas and New Years is overrated!

    Quite underwhelming alright.

Giving crap presents, receiving crap presents, eating turkey for like a week.

You might want to look at the calender.

I usually don't like New Years because I so often hear people say "New Year, New Start". As if they are feckin synonymous. Have a new start because you want to change something, not because its a new year. Didn't encounter any of that last night, which was good.

The only good thing about the new year is being the first to spot a 10 reg car

If it is anything like 2009, you could be waiting a while. Back in the Celtic Tiger times, you wouldn't have to wait much, but it is certainly noticeably slower in the past few years.

As to Christmas, as stated already, it isn't over yet. The worst thing is that it starts before it begins and ends before it finishes. Here we are in the middle of Christmas and how many Christmas songs have you heard in the past week? For weeks previously you couldn't escape them, then as soon as Christmas actually begins, they all stop. There were people having Christmas parties in November. Shops have been advertising for months. If they began advertising on the 1st of December, seeing as the majority of us don't do our shopping until the final week and we all have to do it, they wouldn't lose any money. In fact they'd save themselves a few months of advertising expenses, so they'd do even better. Christmas is always a bit of an anti-climax. Once Christmas Day is over, the next few days are amongst the most boring of the year. You get another little peak for New Year's Eve, but that is it. It isn't over yet, but all the buzz is gone. As it isn't over, when people ask me "How was your Christmas?", I always answer something like "Not bad, so far." Asking how your Christmas was, on the 26th of December, is like asking how your flight was as you get onto the plane, or asking how your holiday was as you arrive at your destination. If you want to know how my Christmas "was", ask me next week.

Sure without the countdown to christmas life would be unbearable. Nothing wrong with taken a breather every now and then

The '10' part will appeal to a lot of people I'd imagine. '10 C 1' would be nice, but I think The Lord Mayor gets this one.

The introduction of the yearly number plates back in 1987 was a work of genius by the government in fairness. People bought cars solely for the reason of showing off their new or nearly new car. Prior to 1987 all you had to do was give it a good wash and polish and you were laughing.

If there's one industry in this country that I've absolutely no pity for it's the 'main' car dealers. They're the biggest rip-off merchants, the lot of them. Yes, I'm generalising here too. No pity whatsoever.

I wouldn't say you're generalising.. the amount of price fixing that goes on in the dealership industry is shocking
