    One sentence review:

"Predictable and a bit silly.. but quite fun overall!"

Watched it last night, can't say I was overwhelmed but I wont be looking for the 2 hours of my life back, good fun overall.

I think it's predictable as hell, but you don't really begrudge it that because by and large the performances are very likeable. It's solid, three star stuff

Drew Barrymore was irritating as always.. though a very worthwhile directorial debut from her.

Agree with everything above except for Barrymore being irritating.

Very clichéd overall but thoroughly enjoyable. Ellen Page really is a cracking young actress.

Ellen Page looked "Juno" as she does in all her flicks, girl is just too darn cute and good looking for movies. I wanted to like `Whip It`....but sadly it did nothing for me. It's all rather Indie and Barrymore's directing is nothing unique....but Roller Derby is kind of a 70's throwback.

I'd give it 2/5...it wasn't to my personal taste, it's ok....it's not horrid, just not for me.

    Ah now.. seriously Richard?

She's cute and a damn fine capable actress but why would you consider her "too good looking" for movies? Bit of an odd statement.

I wouldn't consider her good looking at all tbh.

She is well capable of carrying a film by herself though.

Outside of Hard Candy she seems to play the same "Juno" type roles.....she's not a bad actress at all, i'd just like to see her branch out.

She's not stunning/sexy....but she is very cute, i say "good looking" in the girl-next-door context.

    What you mean? A teenager?

Her next 2 films shall be very different so it'll be interesting to see how she does.

What do you mean a throwback?!? I cant wait to see it, I just hope it's better than the book (which was teenage angsty junk). Ellen Page is "too cute", impossibly cute, clearly cannot be human cute. Drew Barrymore also thinks so, some very strange chemistry going on there.

I had forgotten she was in Hard Candy mainly due to the fact that Juno and that film were so radically different. Must root it out for a rewatch, if I wish to distress myself some evening.

Aaargh I downloaded half and can't seem to get the end of it. Dying to see it in the cinema now. xD
I find Drew Barrymore a bit sickly sweet tbh - Juliette Lewis should be in it more cause she kicks all kinds of ass.

I enjoyed it. Harmless fun. It felt a little like a John Hughes movie.

I think everyone is being very generous, thought it was awful, I'd have to back to Meet the Morgans for a worse movie i've seen recently.

I enjoyed it. It was fun and yes a bit predictable.

I thought the love story was a bit pointless but I guess that adds to the "losing your friends and family" bit. That made the film feel a little long.

Loved Drew Barrymore and Ellen Page. Juliette Lewis stole the show for me though. She's brilliant.
