    im in the process of getting a bike together at the moment and am looking at buying a 2009 Look 576 bike set in from the US, just wondering if anyone on here had done it recently, the place im going through quoted me US$425 (which i think is a wind up) so im looking at organising my own door to door courier, anyone know what dimensions and weight the box would be, cheers.

    A price like that is way too cheap for such a nice bike, even frame only. Beware of getting scammed by some chancer ;)

    EDIT: Just read it again there, was that just for shipping charges? If so, a big whoops on my behalf and it does seem a bit much to me as well. I believe you can organise your own collection and delivery alright, never done it but would be worth looking into, that is if the shop agrees to go along with it. If it was frame only I could get you the weight and dimensions of the box I received my frame in, however I would imagine there are pleanty of guys with boxes that can get the details for you!     I think the price mentioned is just for couriering it from the US

    Aussie, you are aware of the Customs Duty (14%) and VAT (21%) costs of importing, I presume?

    count on shipping weight of about 15kg inc box and packaging.

    a quick look on anpost cheapest registered post option says about €110 but not taking into account
    the dimensional weight factor (which will apply)

    their courier post is €250 for same weight and no insurance add in x rate and its about
    $400 so much the same.

    if anything Id say your own courier would work out more expensive!

    the box would be about 13-15kg and about 5'x2-2.5'x1'
