I think I have a similar problem, I can't fully retract the foreskin when erect but can when limp, would stretching exercises be sufficient or should i grow a pair of balls and go see my gp?

yea im pretty sure stretching in a warm bath or shower should work
    might take a while though

and seeing your gp is always a good idea

This is exactly what you should do. I was told by a gp too a few years ago and it worked!

OP why do you want to retract the skin? For sex?

Not everyone pulls the skin back. Discussed this with a few friends before and it was about 50/50. Some do, some don't.

OP, I had the exact same problem.
    It's called Phimosis.

Best thing to do is get a circumcision, the first few weeks after are absolutel hell but it's worth it in the long run!

you'll need to go to your gp so he can arrange an appointment with St James Hospital.

I wouldn't suggest circumcision just yet, it is the last resort, why have an operation if you may not need it?? Especially in that area. Just try the stretching like everyone else said... May take a while but be patient. You can also get special gels which numb your penis for stretching, think you need a prescription for them so go to your GP and tell him the story.

I got circumcised but did try stretching for a long time and i wasn't getting anywhere.

Why is there such a big deal being made about him not being able to pull it back when erect?

You don't need to. Some people do, some people don't. If it was causing him pain when he got an erection then I'd say it was a problem, otherwise I don't see it as an issue at all.

The problem arises when he tries to have sex and it will certainly hurt then. (do not try anal!)

I had it. I had to get a frenuloplasty (banjo string cut). After that it was still tight. I thought I was going to have to go for a full circumcision. Then I found THE BEAUGE METHOD.

Do a search, but basically all you do is, ever time you masturbate, pull the foreskin back as far as you can and masturbate like that. It's different and takes a while to get used to. Do that EVERY TIME for one month. I firmly believe that if I had done that for one month my problem would have been sorted, instead of having to go through the operation. It's that simple... pull foreskin back as far as it can (without hurting yourself) and gently stretch it as you are masturbating (without hurting yourself).

I guarantee results. Mine went from very tight to full retraction within 4 weeks. Also, every time you pee, pull your foreskin back as far as you can (another stretching technique that you can do every day).

    Good luck.

Where did the OP say he had a problem during sex?

He said he can't fully retract it when erect. Neither can I sometimes but it doesn't interfere.

Is there any reason you keep posting saying its not a problem when to some people it is??

I had the same problem and all i done was everytime i pee'd id try pull it back a little bit more each time and after a while it would fully retract. Id certainly give that a try for a month or so before even considering circumcision!

I for one am glad i can retract the skin fully now as it helps a great deal during sex in certain circumstances!

Yes there is a reason I keep posting because this topic came up some months ago and there was a guy who suddenly became concerned as he had just found out that a lot of guys pull their foreskin back when having sex and he immediately felt odd for not doing it.

Unless it's causing discomfort, there is no need for a guy to do it.

AGAIN, THE OP HAS NOT SAID THAT HE SUFFERS FROM DISCOMFORT.

If he does say it, then fair enough. All I am doing is pointing out that most guys I know don't pull theirs back. It's a non-issue.
