Punk Vinyl Records

I have a collection of punk records that are basically taking up space i dont have. I am considering selling them but have no real idea what theyre worth anymore.

Basically theyre all from the late 70's to late 80's, bands such as

Dead Kennedy's (Most of their albums)
The Exploited (Most of their albums)
Conflict (Most of their albums)
GBH (Some of their albums)
Crass (some of their albums)
Spermbirds (most of their albums)
DOA
Subhumanz
Culture Shock
Toy Dolls
P&TTTB
Toxic Reasons
Discharge
Circle Jerks
The Stupids
Disorder
Black Flag
SLF

and many others, i think theres approx 80 to 90 in total.

I know some will be worth a bit more than others and some will be worthless, but is there anywhere that i could get an estimate of what theyre worth???

I'm in Donegal. I'll have a look on ebay again as i checked a few years ago but could only find CD versions of most, but i'll check again. I'll decide then if its worth my while selling them...

I'm actually in letterkenny, i have one SLF album (All the Best) and thats it from Irish bands, all the rest are UK/USA bands. I've just been going through them and there are some missing as i cant find the 2 Discharge albums, nor P&TTTB album which i definitely had but they're somewhere in the house (i hope)and there are a few that i wont be selling as theyre of sentimental value (The Partisans, Abrasive Wheels, Toy Dolls to name but a few)

Before i'd let anyone have a look at them i'd need to figure out a rough value of them so give me a few weeks. I'll list them all out in the next day or so also so you can see what exactly i do and dont have.

I've listed all the punk albums that i'm willing to sell, i'm keeping a handful of albums that are of sentimental value to me and i dont have the heart to sell, all the rest are up for grabs.

I also have a load of original two tone/ska/mod 7" singles from the likes of Madness, The Jam, Selector, Bad Manners, The Beat, Specials, Special aka etc etc not sure how many of them but i think theres around 30 to 40 of them, however i'm not so keen on selling them as theyre a bit more valuable than the punk albums.

When i get time i'll have a look through ebay and on the net in general and see if i can get some idea on a value for individual records.

Anyone care to give me some estimations or offers on what i have listed above???

I don't have very accurate ideas of value for any of them, but I'll definitely take some off your hands when you have an idea of price.

if you don't mind posting them, I'd definitely take the Crass and Minor Threat stuff off your hands. You can just pm me when you figure out what your selling them for.

Your best bet for finding out is record collector

The best place to get a records value is Record collector's rare record price guide. It will set you back a bit maybe about 40 euro or so, i have the 2008 version dunno if there has been an updated edition

It gives you a good estimate of a records value, it lists 7" which are worth over a £5 sterling and 12" worth over a £12 sterling as far as i can remember.

The thing about records is that in a lot of cases there are different releases which, obviously enough, the rarer versions are worth more. Each record has a code which singles em out from the more abundant releases,

eg your crass "christ" box set should have the code BOLLOX 2U2 somewhere on it, if it has the booklet and that code its worth about 22 euro as long as its in mint condition

Generally ive found that particulary with 7" there might have been a few released with a lyrics sheet or stickers or different sleaves or some kind of an insert

I wouldnt be too quick to sell em off quick just to rid yourself of them, Ebay wuld prob be the best place as more people would see em but as all record dealers will tell you a record is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Ive never sold anything on e bay but i presume you can put some sort of reserve on them.

Thanks for your info mate....Yeah thats the code and i have the booklet too however the box is a little scuffed up having been lying/moved about for the last 20 years or more!
