    2. giant defy 3.5 - 675e
    3. giant defy 3 - 750 e
    4. specialised allez 16 i think 659e
    5 .Trek 1.2 - 750e

IN order to get a bit more advice, yu should probably also include the wheelset and groupset that comes with each of these bikes.

For what its worth, I was in a similar situation a few weeks back and still have the Giant catalogue,

The Defy 4 and 3.5 are both Shimano 2300/2200 24 speed whereas the Defy 3 is Sora 27 speed. The cranksets are FSA Tempo, Vero & Omega respectively for the Defy 4, 3.5 & 3.

I also test rode the Trek and, from memory, its Sora with a Tiagra rear derailleur (but I'm open to correction).

    No idea about the Specialized.

    Hope this helps.........

At that price range most of the bikes will come with very similar spec, an aluminium frame and carbon fork, shimano groupset and own brand finishing kit. Your not going to get very good wheels but the ones on each bike listed would be fine for your needs.

From the Giants, the Defy 3 is the best one from your list, I'd eliminate the other two if your budget allows.

A friend of mine recently got a bike through the scheme and I went over so many different bikes with him in a similar price range but in the end he went for the one which colour he liked which was a kelly's as they were all so similar. Personally I would have gone for the Giant but each to there own on colour!

Your prices seem high so try the cyclesuperstore in Dublin or worldwide cycles in Clonmel for better prices. Also don't mention the scheme until after they give you a price as most retailers put the proce up when you mention the scheme.
