After reading many posts of people staying in, is it the weather, money, singleland or apathy? ..or all of the mentioned.

If t'were singleland, I'd be out like a rabid dog. Some of my greatest conquests happ'd upon a New Years evening.

The missus and the 7 week old have put the skids on it this year, however!!! Drrr!!!!

You'll be spending New Years in the bold house.

But to properly answer your question I hate New Years. It's such an over rated "event". Over priced cover charge into clubs along with over priced drinks and too many people crammed into these places is a nightmare night for me.

I'd rather spend New Year's at home with some friends with a few crates and what not but I don't usually get my wish because apparently I'm "sad" if I don't go out.

It's the celebrating with family and friends.

Everyone embraces each other and wishes everyone a happy new year. It's a night full of stories, memories and closeness :)

Companies have tried to commercialise it, but the element of going through another year of life with loved ones is still there.

I think it's the most over rated night if the year. Only house parties can redeem it.

New Year is nice, but you can observe the passing of the event wherever or however you want. My days of sweating it about where to go, how much to pay and what to do are long over though.

There are one or two house parties I could go to if I had a babysitter, which is a shame, but I'll enjoy the moment anyway.
