    Hi guys,
Sorry if this is the wrong section but just wondering if its cheaper to hire a car well in advance or closer to the departure date?

Going to a wedding in Devon in May so have a couple of diff airport options. 6 of us are heading over but haven't decided if we'll try get one or two cars.

    Thanks in advance

This amount of time gives you plenty of opportunity to shop around anyway, but generally car hire doesn't go up in price until a couple of weeks before the hire date and even then not by much. It only gets expensive when you decide to leave it til the last minute (and even then, there's room to haggle).

In my experience, it's normally been cheaper to hire two small cars than one people carrier, but again, shop around. A people carrier certainly has advantages over using two cars (one driver, less fuel, everyone is together).

try hertz through ryanair and go to special offer tab, 25% off for booking in advance. A Zafira if available is normally cheap compared to people carrier.
