salmon worth 1.2m escape

environmentalists are up in arms after 30,000 salmon escaped from a farm and into the sea,

the salmon,worth an estimated 1.2 million ,escaped from the farm ,in kilkeerin in connemara,co.galway,freeing themselves from mid-lake cages,

environmentalists fear the salmon will breed with wild salmon creating hybrids,although many locals believe the vast majority of have made it to the atlantic,

the loss of the salmon puts at risk many jobs in the fish farming industry in the area
