    Hi Folks,
So I need to buy a laptop... not sure whether to get windows or mac? Like Mac (my bro has a mac and I love it) but they are expensive... would love one though.
I need it for work and study - and for photos and my itouch..

So can someone guide me as to what I need to look for? If I get a mac can is there an equivalent of microsoft office on it?

Also I live in cork so will buy it here as oppose to on line so that I can avail of the customer services..

    Thanks in advance

What's your budget? That will have a big impact on things. In reality, you could buy a laptop for under 500 that would surpass your needs. You have to ask yourself if you need a MAC, and if it's worth the price premium. Because the same hardware ie processor, RAM, Hard Drive etc will be in both macs and windows laptops, but an Equivalent pc will be cheaper.

ok, so, what is a MAC really needed for? I need it primarily for typing reports using word or excel equiv and then for leisurely purposes such as music, pic's etc.
I can afford a MAC but would need to dip into savings.. but TBH I may be just being silly wanting a mac for all the wrong reasons,,, so..
