I have read reports that there are traces of pharmaceuticals in the water at least in America, these include antibiotics, over the counter medicine and prescription medicine.

This has been known to cause mutations in aquatic life. As far as I know the long term effects on humans is still unknown, but surely it can't be good.

Do we in Europe have a cause of concern with pharmaceuticals in the water we use to drink, shower, wash are clothes and so on? This is an environmental issue that does not seem to get much attention.
