If I bought a mobile in the UK (NI specifically) would it work in Ireland if I put my Irish o2 sim into it or do I need to get it unlocked or something? If I do, where do ya get that done and how much is it likely to cost?

    Thanks.

If you buy it on a network either billpay or prepay it will generally be locked so you'll need to get it unlocked.

If you buy it SIM free or unlocked then you shouldn't have any issues generally.

Your best option is bring your O2 IE SIM to the shop with you.
