Short Term Job Offer

    Hello,

I have been offered a 3 month job in Northern Ireland. I am currently on Job Seekers benefit having lost my job back in September.

If I take this job and then the contract is not reviewed, would I be able to resign on, or would I then be excluded from claiming any benefits.

This poses quit a dilema for me.

You will be able to sign back on, in fact, it would not even be deemed a new claim, although you will have to fill out the application again. You will continue where you left off in terms of how much JSB you have remaining, hope this helps

I'm curious, how long does someone have to be off (and paying PRSI) for, in order for a subsequent claim to be considered "new"?

13 Weeks, as that is when your entitlement to JSB is renewed, as in you start off on a fresh set of stamps
