It should just work when you plug it into your controller? Just make sure it isn't muted and is turned up. Not sure you'll enjoy the ingame chat much. Rarely is of any use. Mostly idiotic teenagers shouting at each other, or singing to themselves.

You won't hear ingame sounds though through the MS headset. Think you need to buy a pair of proper headsets for that. You can get surround sounds ones that should let you hear where noises come from.

You need to get a turtle beach headset or something similiar to hear in-game sounds. They are very pricey though.

This is the best option, but TBH, they're not that expensive and the are ridiculasly good

look at the price of the PS3 one.. ouch

And the xbox one plugs into the joypad which essentially makes it wireless

I got myself a pair of X4's for xmas. Wireless and 5.1 surround, they are deadly.

    Kinda stupidly expensive though.

Does anyone have the ps3 ones? The p21? Does it just connect through the usb? Or does it also have a 3.5mm jack for the tv? My tv does not have a headphone jack so just wondering? It not exactly clear on the site just says usb for chat.

    Sorry for hijacking op

No, dont need headphone jack, all works through USB
The Ear Force P21 gaming headset pushes your Playstation 3 (PS3) gaming experience to a new level with superior stereo sound and crystal-clear communication on the PlayStation Network (PSN) through a USB connection. The P21 gives you a competitive advantage by bringing out sound cues in the game that are difficult to hear with speakers—such as the footsteps of an enemy sneaking up on you or the loading of a weapon at a far distance. By combining PSN online chat with stereo game audio, the P21 also lets you clearly hear the voices of online players so you can communicate without being distracted from the game.
