Can nyone help me with this?

I'm meant to be starting a new job next week.

I'll be coming off the dole but I won't be paid till to the end of the month.

My parents won't give me a loan, bank won't give me a loan, I will basically have NO money to survive on all month.

Surely there must be some way to survive round this? I'm so stressed trying to think what to do. Will it come to the point where I will have to turn down the job?

Is there anything I can do to get money frst month off the dole?

Go to your Community Welfare Officer and put a case for getting an emergency payment to tide you over until end of the month. You'll have to pay it back but not all at once. Bring your bank statements for last 6 months, ID, PRSI number and all the usual stuff including evidence of new employment etc., when you go. You could phone them tomorrow to try to find out when the officer for your area will be there.

I heard that Social Welfare may pay you up until you receive your first pay cheque from your new employer.

Why dont you call into your local social welfare office to find out.

Not generally true, but the CWO should be sympathetic to your situation.

You could try not signing off the live register until you get your first pay cheque and owe it back to them.
Or try CWO in your local health centre.

This is illegal, and you are therefore banned.

you are supposed to sign off when you start working, not when you get paid.
